Since my cousin have stayed at Mahkota Hotel in Malacca before, so we expected the hotel to be good since it was a popular spot and place to stay in few years back. Time and things change, the hotel standard went down according to my cousin who has stayed there once.

All of the other hotels around Malacca City is fully booked so we had to make do with whatever we have for 2 nights. I won't recommend any of you to stay at this hotel unless you're fine with waiting for 2 hours for the room to be ready, faulty toilet flush, useless air-conditioner, dirty water(yes the water is really dirty and yellow), every extra bed that is requested cost RM77.70 per day (SGD 29.90, just for a bed), faulty room door and if your clothes get messed up and crumpled, you have to go down to the laundry/ironing room to iron your clothes and share it with many people. I'm not trying to say that all that is really bad, i mean, you paid for a APARTMENT ROOM to stay and enjoy your facilities but this is the case, will it be worth your bucks? Of course not. You can get many other hotels that is much more better than this hotel. One more thing i have to add in, my cousin asked the housekeeper to clean their room and the minute we got back to the hotel after a long day of shopping, she found out that the balcony door was wide open. What does this means? It means that the housekeeper isn't doing their job right and all they want is to get the things done fast and let the hotel visitors valuables in danger....See how bad it is?
Seriously, i'm not trying to make their reputation bad but... if you really want to experience a bad hotel in your life, you can come down and try it yourself (:
That's all i can say! Hope this post helps!
