KL TRIP 2014

Hello there my readers! I am sorry for the very very very long hiatus, i know i've said this millions of times that i'm sorry for neglecting this blog. Since i'm already a free girl now, i will continue to blog as much as possible.

In today's post, i am going to blog about my KL Trip back in December 2014. This trip was my first overseas trip with my friends. We planned to go on a holiday trip after our hardwork during the four months of internship. God knows how hard it was to convince my grandma to allow me to go on this trip. At first, we planned to go to Hong Kong but due to the protest that was going on, we decided to bring it down to Bandung but, my friend isn't allowed to go to anywhere else besides Kuala Lumpur. So, KL it is :)

My girls and I was the organizer of the trip. I was the one who did all the admin stuff. Initially, we thought of travelling by flight to KL, but since our budget was on the lower side, we took a coach to KL.
I booked through a very popular bus coach called Aeroline. Aeroline travels to different destination from Singapore. You can travel directly from Singapore to Sunway Lagoon, Penang and Kuala Lumpur(Corus Hotel).

15 December 2014
Our bus was scheduled to depart at 9.30am and it did. The journey was about 5 and a half hours(due to the jam at the checkpoint) it could be lesser than that because the driver will only make one pit stop for the whole journey. We arrived in KL around 4pm and we checked in immediately at Corus Hotel after alighting from the bus.

After resting for a few hours, we decided to go out and explore the areas near our hotel. Our hotel is located near a shopping mall called Avenue K. Not only that, our hotel is only 3 minutes away from the famous Twin Tower, KLCC. We had dinner at Nandos and did some shopping at H&M and some other stores. Trust me, Malaysia's H&M is the best place to shop in December! Sales everywhere! Although most of the items are controlled items and its about the same price as Singapore, if you convert it to the exchange rate when you change your money, it it way much cheaper than Singapore! All hail Malaysia's H&M! Afterwhich, we did some groceries shopping so that we can stock up the fridge with some food and snacks. Went back to the hotel and that was the end of day one.

16 December 2014
Second day in KL. All of us woke up early in the morning and made our way to Pavilion to have our breakfast and we had Subway. Our plan on that day was to go to Berjaya Times Square Theme Park and go karaoke. After breakfast, we walked around Pavilion and i kind of splurged at NARS and bought some good make up from the store. NARS doesn't have an official store in Singapore hence that's the reason why i decided to go to NARS. We asked the make up assistant to try some foundation and concealer on us and i finally settled down for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (RM100) and NARS Audacious Lipstick in Ingrid (RM95) in total, i only spend about $70+. Cheap right?! Heaven on Earth!!! *put hands up in the air*

We walked from Pavilion to Berjaya Times Square because it is only about a good 15 minutes walk? Here's some of the photos that we took near Bukit Bintang Walk while we were on our way walking.

The entry fee for the indoor theme park at Berjaya Times Square is RM47 if i'm not wrong. We bought the package that comes with the haunted house ticket as well. Our first ride was the rollercoaster ride. Heard so much about the ride, how it was unsafe and how people fell while they was on the ride but thank god, it all went well during my ride :) After the rollercoaster ride, we tried the DNA MIXER and hell yes, it was a wrong decision that we made to ride it for our second ride. The ride was insanely annoying. It shakes us up vigorously to the extend that all of us got so exhausted and giddy after the ride.

Please, I warn you, DO NOT ride on this DNA MIXER if you have low tolerance of rides that makes you go round and round or if you really want to try this shit out, make it the LAST ride of the day. Trust me. You will regret it.

All of us felt so sick so we tried around 2 more rides and we even skipped the haunted house. All of our plans to go karaoke was push backwards because everyone was just so cranky and exhausted. We decided to go to Petaling Street (Round 1) to shop for some stuff and i bought hell lots of things!

We couldn't find any nice restaurants over at Petaling so we went to the supermarket had dinner at our hotel room. End of day 2.

17 December 2014
Early wake up call, yet again! We left our hotel around 9.30am and took a cab from our hotel to Sunway Lagoon! The last time i've been here was i think back in 2002? I can't remember.

Our very kind and friendly taxi driver that we hired during our trip, decided to bring us to a local Travel Agent and buy our tickets from them. Sunway Lagoon ticket which is inclusive of the Outdoor Thene Park and Waterpark + Go Kart is about RM105-110(depending on what activity) which is only less than SGD 40.

Thank god for my waterproof camera that i brought, i was able to capture some photos at the waterpark.

(NO MAKE UP WATER POOL SELFIE)

We spent almost the whole day at the park. Tried most of the outdoor rides and the rest of them went to the haunted house and i didn't because i have really bad tolerance with haunted house. After a long tiring day, we called our driver to bring us to Petaling Street as we want to find dinner over at that side and we did some shopping (Round 2) and went back to the hotel by the Rapid KL train. By the time we all got back to our hotel, we were all so drained out!

I will rate Sunway Lagoon a 6/10. Adventure Cove is way much better than this!

18 December 2014
Day 4 of our KL trip!
All of us knocked out the night before and woke up at 1pm. We were supposed to go do some Cafe Hopping but it was cancelled because all of us woke up late. I wanted to go up to Genting Highlands or go hike Bukit Tabur so badly but none of them are on it! We decided to go to Berjaya Times Square and go karaoke.
3 hours of Karaoke = RM28 with one meal and free flow of drinks. You won't be able to get this in Singapore!

After shouting and singing our hearts out, we finally decided to go to one of the most popular rooftop bars in KL, The Helipad. We took the Rapid KL to Raja Chulan station and walked to Menara KH. That is where The Helipad is located at. There is no entrance fee to enter but you must be in formal or smart casual clothings and also get a drink (it doesnt have to be an alcoholic drink) before you can go up to the top and chill.

360 Degrees View of Kuala Lumpur

I was in love with the view of KL but we only spend around 20 minutes at the top because we wanted to explore other things. We went to Masjid India afterwards but most of the shops are closed so we had dinner at a nearby stall and walked back to our hotel from Masjid India all the way to Corus Hotel. It was a long walk, around 45 minutes walk? But it was good because we got to pass by some good places like KLCC, Zouk and other places. It was also a scary walk because we are not familiar with the road and also it was quite quiet at that time.
We all decided to just sleep late on our last night and all i knew was i slept at 5am.

19 December 2014 (last day)
I woke up at 8am and decided that i will go do some last minute shopping at Avenue K with Nabilah and yes, i went to H&M again, to shop and got a few more items. I also went to Factory Outlet Store, Nichii and etc to buy all the good clothes that i can before it was time to go home. We also had Nandos for breakfast!

Checked out of the hotel at 1pm and chilled out at Aeroline Lounge for Aeroline Guest while waiting for our bus. Our bus got delayed till 4pm. We left Kuala Lumpur and reached Singapore around 9.30pm? And guess who was the most busiest girl ever? Who came with only one luggage and went back with one luggage, two backpacks, one paper bag?

By the time i got back to Singapore, i was already broke but, i was satisfied with the trip and the shopping that i did in Kuala Lumpur! I would love to just come back and shop! I am already missing KL and my friends so badly. Looking forward for the next trip maybe in March or April!

Now, that was a lengthy post! I hope this post will make it up to all of my readers out there! I will try to post about my 19th Birthday Celebration in a few days time, alright?

Lots of Love,
Errah Athirah :)

Back Home

I am finally back in Singapore(reality) feeling sad because my trip is over :( i just wish to travel all over the world at one go.

Anyway, we left the hotel in the afternoon and head down to shop @ Giant, Plentong in Johor. We did some last minute shopping. After shopping, we ate our dinner at Stulang Laut (Stulang Beach) and had seafood...so i had my all time fav Tom Yum Noodles and now...i'm stucked in a jam going back to Singapore.

I will do some reviews of the hotel and do a haul post on what i got in Malacca/JB once i'm free :) have a great week!

Malacca Trip: Day 3

Can you guess where am i right now? Nope, i'm not at home, neither am i in Singapore. I'm currently at Johor Bahru! We decided to book rooms and stay at Johor for one night because we left Malacca in the late afternoon earlier on. Our journey from Malacca to Johor took us around 4-5 hours so thats the reason why we decided to book and stay in Johor for a night @ KSL HOTEL & RESORT.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first one was 3-4 months back (you can see the post on the right side of this page) since this is a last minute plan, the only rooms that are available is the King Bed room (good enough to deal with for one night)

Malacca Day 3: Time to check out of the hotel and head for lunch. We had our lunch at a very famous cartoon character restaurant....kids in Singapore like this two boys a lot and they are.....UPIN AND IPIN!!! If you don't know what i'm talking about, you can just Google them and find out!

And this is what i had....Chicken Chop!

This ice-cream is too cute to resist so i got one for myself.

You can try this restaurant out if you're in Malacca. This restaurant is located just directly opposite Dataran Pahlawan Megamall and you'll be able to see a big Upin signboard just like this.

After having lunch, we decidec to have chendol drink but the road was too busy and so they decided to leave Malacca immediately and drive all the way down to Johor. Initially, the place was to just shop at Johor but haha, it turns out to be a night stay instead!

I'll be back by tomorrow evening! Sorry for the messy pictures! Will have to arrange them again once i'm home! Peace out xx

Athirah :)

Malacca Trip: Day 2

Second day in Malacca:
Didn't had breakfast at the hotel(because the charge for having breakfast here is too expensive.) Left the hotel room in the afternoon and head down to Klebang to have the popular and famous coconut shake.

If you're planning to come to Malacca, you have to come down and try it!

And this is what i had for my late breakfast! Sausage Rolls!

We spent around an hour at the Dataran Pahlawan and visit the landmarks there.

The weather was nice and warm so after walking around, we went to the Dahtaran Pahlawan Megamall to shop (my favourite part) all i got was a big black duffel bag, Starbucks and mum got me some clothes but there wasn't that much thing that caught my eyes there except for the bag.

After spending hours of shopping, we had our dinner at a local seafood restaurant. The service there is so lousy so i wouldn't recommend this to you guys. The food came after an hour of waiting, no forks/spoons, the food isn't that tasty and the service is just a no-no...

This will be the first and last time eating there! Everyone got pissed off with the service and the staffs. To get the pissed feeling off, all of us had durians by the roadside stall before going back to the hotel to rest!

Today has been a really tiring day, as usual but the sad thing is that....tomorrow is the last day and then back to Singapore(reality) :( I wished holidays would last forever and ever but no. Lol!

Will try to update tomorrow night if i'm not tired okay? Goodnight xx

Malacca Trip: Day 1

Blogging in my hotel room right now! Hello everyone! I've reached Malacca safely yesterday in the afternoon. I didn't get to sleep last night because i was too excited for this trip. I actually spent time watching two movies before getting up at 3:30am.

Left the house and went to meet up with my other cousins who are going for this trip and we left Singapore in the morning at 6am. The journey from Singapore to Malacca will take around 3 hours but all of us took a longer time because we went to the resting area and had a short rest.

The hotel that i'm currently staying is...Mahkota Parade Hotel in Malacca. I thought this hotel will be a amazing 4 star hotel because i'm actually staying in a apartment room. What i can say about this hotel is that...THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN MALAYSIA! Why?!

- They made us wait for 2 hours for them to clean up and make the room.
- The toilet bowl flush is broken.
- The exterior design of the hotel looks really nice and cozy, but the minute i walk down the corridors of the hotel, it gives me a chill down the spine.
-YOU HAVE TO GO DOWN TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM TO IRON YOUR CLOTHES. They don't provide ironing boards to your room.
- Every extra bed that is requested will be charged at $77.70 per DAY! (Can you imagine how much it'll cost?! I might as well get another room.)

Look at the exterior design of the hotel surroundings.

I won't go further about this hotel. All i can say is that this is not a good hotel to recommend around to your friends.

Ratings: 2/10

Nonetheless, we got to explore Malacca today. We had dinner at a local malay rice restaurant. And this is what i ate for my early dinner.

I was told by my friend that when i come to Malacca, i must try out the Chicken Rice Ball but it isn't halal so obviously i won't try it out!

We then went for some grocery shopping to stock up food in our room for the next 3 days. We shopped at Parkson and Giant and head off to Jonker Street and Hard Rock Cafe to experience the night life in Malacca. We also got to see the Malacca River Cruise boat and the hotel that is near the sea which is the Casa Del Rio, Malacca.

Jonker Streets reminds me of Chaktuchak market in Bangkok. I managed to get some accesories for myself before going back to the hotel.

Basically, thats what i did on my first day here in Malacca. Will update tomorrow xx

Love,
Athirah
