Year 2013

I went through a lot of obstacles this year. Entered a new school, new environment, new friends, new rules, rejection, break ups, meeting my idols, new people and more. It's definitely a bitter sweet journey this year.

I've met people of all different kinds of attitude, egoistic and any other bad and good attitude that they have. Some people left and came into my life. I won't talk about those people who have left my life whether its for a good or bad reason. All i can say is thanks for stepping into my life and make me smile when you got your time to. I appreciate all the kindness and efforts made but sometimes, some people are not meant to be in your life but will stay in your heart. So, here's a little recap on my life in 2013....

Started off 2013 by entering a new school. Met new awesome friends, some left, some stayed. I've yet to see who will be there for me when i'm in need. All of them are nice friends but some just started to show their true colours as months passed by....But this was my favourite friends during the start of the year.
January 2013
March 2013
Met my beautiful idol, a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles and she's a Youtuber, Tiffany Alvord. She did a Asia Tour of her album and she came to Singapore for the second time so it was my second time meeting her and it is a great feeling to know that she remembers me.

June 2013,
This is by far my furthest country i've ever been too (i think) this is my first trip without a dad (well, i mean my stepdad) My mum, sister and I, the three of us travelled to Bangkok, Thailand to have a holiday together after years and years of not travelling out of Singapore. The trip was all on my mum and i'm thankful for the trip. Thankful that i got to enjoy travelling out of Singapore and see how it's like in other countries. I've always wanted to make a visit to the MADAME TUSSAUDS MUSUEM and i did, i met the wax figure of my idol, Justin Bieber.

July, August, 2013
What i did during this three months was....working. I've applied for some part-time jobs to work during my weekends and holidays. Quitted the job because i was too tired and couldn't handle what i was going through. I met a guy, we broke up, i don't want to talk about it at all, i wish to erase him forever and ever. I regret knowing him and yes, this is my first time ever regretting meeting someone in my life. I've never regret meeting each and everyone that has entered my life just this particular guy, i just regretted meeting and knowing him...

September, 2013
One of my wish/dream that i wrote on the white ball that is released every year at the Singapore River, came true. My dream was to see Justin Bieber LIVE once again came true. At first, when i knew he was coming to Singapore, i knew that the tickets will be expensive and they'll be no chances for me go and see him sing at the biggest outdoor arena in Singapore. Miracle happened, i entered a contest (wasn't prepared, just did a cover of his song) made it through the top 30's and won myself a pair of tickets to see him live. That time, it was just...magical (:

I brought my best friend, Atiqah to the concert and we enjoyed the time of our lives by enjoying Justin's songs on stage. It was indeed a very memorable night, i wish it could happen again, anytime soon. *wish*

I also met someone who is close to Justin Bieber and he is Justin's Manager, Scooter's, brother,so i was quite fortunate to get that close to Justin. Well, i didn't get to meet Justin but at least i met and worked for a person who is close to Justin. It was great and the doors of Pencils Of Promise in New York is always open for me to come and visit if i were to go to New York one day, kudos to Adam Braun for that.

October, November, December, 2013
I sure spent a lot of my time at Sentosa as i was working with Sentosa for the biggest Halloween Event of the year, Sentosa Spooktacular. Again, made new friends, got to experience how its like to be in a mask for 5 hours without a break and also experience how its like to be in the attractions industry. Spent my last few months in school, took some exams and enjoy my holidays with friends. I have till this coming 13th before school starts again and its time for my second year in college! Time flies when you're having fun.

2013 has been a great year for me, like i said, i met new friends and a whole lot of different people. I widened up my talent of music by doing covers and also being able to see my idols is just..amazing. All the things that i've went through this year made me stronger and who i am today. Thank you too all that of them who has been with me all along and staying by my side when i'm in need. I'll always love you guys...

Till my next post, i just want to wish all my readers a very
HAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2014 be a blissful year ahead of you and..enjoy your life while you still can! Talk to you next year!

Malacca Haul, 2013

Here's as promised! My vacation trip to Malacca, haul. I decided to do a video this time round and try out and see what you guys think of this video!

I don't have a proper video editing software at the moment as i'm still finding one so that explains why this video has a watermark in it. But, i don't mind so i hope you don't too! I actually had to shoot this video twice in 2 days because the first time i did it, the lighting was bad so i finally had the day-light to do the job and i'm currently trying to find a cheap ring light so that i am able to do more videos with good lighting. Speaking of camera...my camera is a normal 16.1 megapixel digital camera so its not that good like a dslr camera. Haha, but anyway, here's the video, enjoy. This video is only applicable for people with this link as i don't set this video to public. Only my readers get this link! ENJOY (:

Review: Mahkota Hotel, Malacca

If you've read my past three post, i just came back from my vacation in Malacca one day ago. The last time i went to Malacca when i was 13 or 14 years old and i only stayed at my uncle's house whenever we visit Malacca. This is my first time staying at a hotel/apartment in Malacca City itself.

Since my cousin have stayed at Mahkota Hotel in Malacca before, so we expected the hotel to be good since it was a popular spot and place to stay in few years back. Time and things change, the hotel standard went down according to my cousin who has stayed there once.

Photo from AsiaTravel.com

All of the other hotels around Malacca City is fully booked so we had to make do with whatever we have for 2 nights. I won't recommend any of you to stay at this hotel unless you're fine with waiting for 2 hours for the room to be ready, faulty toilet flush, useless air-conditioner, dirty water(yes the water is really dirty and yellow), every extra bed that is requested cost RM77.70 per day (SGD 29.90, just for a bed), faulty room door and if your clothes get messed up and crumpled, you have to go down to the laundry/ironing room to iron your clothes and share it with many people. I'm not trying to say that all that is really bad, i mean, you paid for a APARTMENT ROOM to stay and enjoy your facilities but this is the case, will it be worth your bucks? Of course not. You can get many other hotels that is much more better than this hotel. One more thing i have to add in, my cousin asked the housekeeper to clean their room and the minute we got back to the hotel after a long day of shopping, she found out that the balcony door was wide open. What does this means? It means that the housekeeper isn't doing their job right and all they want is to get the things done fast and let the hotel visitors valuables in danger....See how bad it is?

Seriously, i'm not trying to make their reputation bad but... if you really want to experience a bad hotel in your life, you can come down and try it yourself (:

That's all i can say! Hope this post helps!

Back Home

I am finally back in Singapore(reality) feeling sad because my trip is over :( i just wish to travel all over the world at one go.

Anyway, we left the hotel in the afternoon and head down to shop @ Giant, Plentong in Johor. We did some last minute shopping. After shopping, we ate our dinner at Stulang Laut (Stulang Beach) and had seafood...so i had my all time fav Tom Yum Noodles and now...i'm stucked in a jam going back to Singapore.

I will do some reviews of the hotel and do a haul post on what i got in Malacca/JB once i'm free :) have a great week!

Malacca Trip: Day 3

Can you guess where am i right now? Nope, i'm not at home, neither am i in Singapore. I'm currently at Johor Bahru! We decided to book rooms and stay at Johor for one night because we left Malacca in the late afternoon earlier on. Our journey from Malacca to Johor took us around 4-5 hours so thats the reason why we decided to book and stay in Johor for a night @ KSL HOTEL & RESORT.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first one was 3-4 months back (you can see the post on the right side of this page) since this is a last minute plan, the only rooms that are available is the King Bed room (good enough to deal with for one night)

Malacca Day 3: Time to check out of the hotel and head for lunch. We had our lunch at a very famous cartoon character restaurant....kids in Singapore like this two boys a lot and they are.....UPIN AND IPIN!!! If you don't know what i'm talking about, you can just Google them and find out!

And this is what i had....Chicken Chop!

This ice-cream is too cute to resist so i got one for myself.

You can try this restaurant out if you're in Malacca. This restaurant is located just directly opposite Dataran Pahlawan Megamall and you'll be able to see a big Upin signboard just like this.

After having lunch, we decidec to have chendol drink but the road was too busy and so they decided to leave Malacca immediately and drive all the way down to Johor. Initially, the place was to just shop at Johor but haha, it turns out to be a night stay instead!

I'll be back by tomorrow evening! Sorry for the messy pictures! Will have to arrange them again once i'm home! Peace out xx

Malacca Trip: Day 2

Second day in Malacca:
Didn't had breakfast at the hotel(because the charge for having breakfast here is too expensive.) Left the hotel room in the afternoon and head down to Klebang to have the popular and famous coconut shake.

If you're planning to come to Malacca, you have to come down and try it!

And this is what i had for my late breakfast! Sausage Rolls!

We spent around an hour at the Dataran Pahlawan and visit the landmarks there.

The weather was nice and warm so after walking around, we went to the Dahtaran Pahlawan Megamall to shop (my favourite part) all i got was a big black duffel bag, Starbucks and mum got me some clothes but there wasn't that much thing that caught my eyes there except for the bag.

After spending hours of shopping, we had our dinner at a local seafood restaurant. The service there is so lousy so i wouldn't recommend this to you guys. The food came after an hour of waiting, no forks/spoons, the food isn't that tasty and the service is just a no-no...

This will be the first and last time eating there! Everyone got pissed off with the service and the staffs. To get the pissed feeling off, all of us had durians by the roadside stall before going back to the hotel to rest!

Today has been a really tiring day, as usual but the sad thing is that....tomorrow is the last day and then back to Singapore(reality) :( I wished holidays would last forever and ever but no. Lol!

Will try to update tomorrow night if i'm not tired okay? Goodnight xx

Malacca Trip: Day 1

Blogging in my hotel room right now! Hello everyone! I've reached Malacca safely yesterday in the afternoon. I didn't get to sleep last night because i was too excited for this trip. I actually spent time watching two movies before getting up at 3:30am.

Left the house and went to meet up with my other cousins who are going for this trip and we left Singapore in the morning at 6am. The journey from Singapore to Malacca will take around 3 hours but all of us took a longer time because we went to the resting area and had a short rest.

The hotel that i'm currently staying is...Mahkota Parade Hotel in Malacca. I thought this hotel will be a amazing 4 star hotel because i'm actually staying in a apartment room. What i can say about this hotel is that...THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN MALAYSIA! Why?!

- They made us wait for 2 hours for them to clean up and make the room.
- The toilet bowl flush is broken.
- The exterior design of the hotel looks really nice and cozy, but the minute i walk down the corridors of the hotel, it gives me a chill down the spine.
-YOU HAVE TO GO DOWN TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM TO IRON YOUR CLOTHES. They don't provide ironing boards to your room.
- Every extra bed that is requested will be charged at $77.70 per DAY! (Can you imagine how much it'll cost?! I might as well get another room.)

Look at the exterior design of the hotel surroundings.

I won't go further about this hotel. All i can say is that this is not a good hotel to recommend around to your friends.

Ratings: 2/10

Nonetheless, we got to explore Malacca today. We had dinner at a local malay rice restaurant. And this is what i ate for my early dinner.

I was told by my friend that when i come to Malacca, i must try out the Chicken Rice Ball but it isn't halal so obviously i won't try it out!

We then went for some grocery shopping to stock up food in our room for the next 3 days. We shopped at Parkson and Giant and head off to Jonker Street and Hard Rock Cafe to experience the night life in Malacca. We also got to see the Malacca River Cruise boat and the hotel that is near the sea which is the Casa Del Rio, Malacca.

Jonker Streets reminds me of Chaktuchak market in Bangkok. I managed to get some accesories for myself before going back to the hotel.

Basically, thats what i did on my first day here in Malacca. Will update tomorrow xx

(feeling excited) I'm currently packing up my stuff for the Malacca trip tomorrow! It'll be a 3 days 2 night trip / short getaway! I'm currently having a five minutes break from packing. My mum said that whatever i'm bringing looks like as if i'm going far from Singapore. Well...it's a road trip, i'm a girl so you know, girls....Haha!

Anyway, just wanted to say have a great weekend everyone and i'll try to update if i have wifi! 3 days tops! Bye (:

Trial Pass at True Fitness

Holla everyone! Guess what? I'm back on my healthy lifestyle again! I'm starting to get back on working out and eating healthy. ( I ate too much for the past few months and i'm slowly realizing i'm increasing in size and weight.)

To be honest, i don't really like working out in the gym that much because i feel really insecure whenever i work out in the gym. I don't usually go to the gym and so i am not familiar with the equipments that are available at the gym and also....you know, all gym will definitely have hot and hunky guys working their muscles out! It would be a shame if i don't use the equipment properly in front of those hunky boys, haha. (not trying to be cheesey.)

But....i don't feel insecure, weird or awkward when i worked out at True Fitness!

Today is my second training at True Fitness. I'm currently on a 7 day Trial Pass and still considering if i should sign up and be a member or not. I've attended two classes so far. I tried the Aerobics class yesterday in the morning and it was my first time joining and doing aerobics and phew it was a intense one! It felt like a dancing class but it isn't! Today, i managed to join the Zumba Class in the afternoon and yes, i like doing Zumba more! It's all about shaking the booty, baby! After dancing and sweating out, i spent about an hour and a half in the gym! Went on the thread mill, cycling and doing some upper body exercises. It feels so good to start working out again after being stiff for months, haha.

The benefit of this 7 days Trial Pass is that you will get to enjoy all the classes provided you book the classes that you want to attend to and the gym is all yours to use till whatever time you want. The gym opens up at 6am-10pm so if you wanna work out in the morning or during your lunch break or any time, you can just come down and work out! Its a 7 days trial pass so its up to you whether you want to come on a daily basis (so you will get to enjoy more) or miss out some of the days. Its best if you come for the whole week so you will get to enjoy more classes as they have different classes every day.

For now, True Fitness has 8 outlets and will be opening 3 more oulets near Ang Mo Kio, Clementi and Central area so it will be better if you choose the outlet that is nearer to your home or convenient for you! I have one more class to attend to next Monday which is the Cycling class and one more thing...one of the personal trainer there decided to help me and my friends out in working out and he will give us a test on Monday to see what's our body limit so that he can prepare us the training schedule for us so that we know what to train on the next time we come to train! Sounds fun right?

The reason why i wanted to start this healthy lifestyle back again is because i am constantly putting on weight everyday so i really need to burn the calories out and also...i just found out earlier that my metabolism rate is the same as a 10 years old kid. See how bad is it? I need to work out! I will update you guys on my body and training progress. According to my personal trainer, i should be able to see the difference in 2 weeks to 1 months time. Wish me luck!

Side note, i'm going for a short getaway with my family this weekend to Malacca so i'm hoping to update my blog through my phone (if there's wifi) if not, i'll just have to blog when i'm home on Sunday night! Goodnight and have a great weekend!

Love,
Errah (:

Disney Frozen Movie Review

I finally watched a new movie today after 3 months of not going to the movies...Today is my family day. I went out with my mum, sister and my cousin to go catch the new movie, FROZEN.
This is the movie that people have been raving about saying that its really really good for the kids and the family. Cheers to family time!

We went in the afternoon and thank god my cousin book our tickets the day before because all the tickets for the different showtimes was selling fast! (This movie must be really good) Yes, Disney never fails to disappoint me! This movie is so good that i might consider watching it again this coming week with my mum. Every fairytale will definitely have a good and bad side right? For this movie, its different! There's no evil queen, evil stepsister or any other evil things you could think of! This movie is all about magic and snowwww!

Its a story about a princess named Elsa who was born with a magical power that can create ice and snow. When she was young, she injured her younger sister, Anna, causing a small part of her hair to turn white. Their parents, the Queen and King of Arendelle asked Princess Elsa to hide her secret away from her younger sister, Anna for safety purposes. Elsa locked herself up for almost 10 years and she only opened up the castle gates during the coronation ceremony. Their parents died in a thunderstorm while they're on the ocean. (I will stop here because it won't be fun to tell everything here!)

My favourite character from this movie will be Princess Elsa, the one who has the magic powers to create ice and snow. She's not evil even though she injured her sister during their younger days. Everything about her is so pretty and magical! Her dresses, her hair, her powers, EVERYTHING!
(I wished i had powers like her so i can freeze everything up!)

Movie Rating: 10/10 (Disney is so amazing!)

So what are you waiting for? Bring your family down to the cinema and catch this movie while it's in the theatres! Definitely worth the bucks!! Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy making ice! (just joking :p)

Adventure Cove Waterpark, Singapore

Made my second visit to Adventure Cove yesterday with my friend's family. Sorry for not updating yesterday night because i was so exhausted from swimming and being at Sentosa for the whole day.

We were supposed to go to Adventure Cove first but they decided to visit S.E.A Aquarium so that we will have plenty of time swimming at Adventure Cove. Since i've visited the aquarium before, there wasn't much things to look forward for except for the dolphins! They have ready brought in the dolphins into the exhibition after being quarrantined for quite some time. I didn't manage to capture pictures of the dolphins because it was too crowded.

After an hour, we finally made our way to Adventure Cove. Adventure Cove is just a walking distance away from the aquarium. So after you see the fishes, its time for you to be the fish, swimming @ Adventure Cove, haha! Just joking :p

A picture of me and my friends at the entrance area of Adventure Cove before we changed and get swimmin'!

(I didn't take any pictures so today is gonna be a lengthy post, get ready for it.)

First stop to swim : The Bluewave pool. Its a huge pool to swim. All you have to do is wait for the currents to come and swim with the waves. This is my favourite pool to swim. The waves will last about 20 minutes and then it will have a 15 minutes interval before the waves comes out again. Sounds fun right? Try going to the front area of the pool and you will experience the waves more! (Feels like you're at a deep blue ocean.)

The first ride that i took was the Dueling Racer slide. It was my first time trying the ride so i was quite nervous for it because you will be sliding down in a "superman" position. Meaning, you will face down and slide down till the end! But...IT WAS FUN!

It was time fore the RipTide Rocket slide! This is my FAVOURITE ride of all rides that is available there! This slide is operated using magnet! Can you imagine that? You're sliding down with magnets that will pull you through the slides! It feels like a rollercoaster ride but a wet one! You seriously can't miss this if you're there!

After queing up for a long time for the rides, i decided to make my "fall" at the Free Fall area. All you have to do is jump from a platform into a 4m deep water. BUT, you must know how to swim in order to jump! It rained heavily after i did my jump so all the rides are suspended until there was no lightning alert.

I spent my last 3 hours swimming at the Lazy River and then head back to the wave pool before changing up and go home. It was raining the whole time so there wasn't much people left. I went home straight after changing up and didn't follow Rynne's family for dinner. (Too exhausted.)

And so, that sums up my second trip to Adventure Cove Waterpark! Bring your family down and have a swimming good time!

Goodnight x

Cafe Hunt: 3.Inch.Sin

I went for my first Cafe hunting today with two of my friend, Rynne and Elyka. Since this is my first time doing cafe hunting, Rynne decided to be our cafe hunting guide and brought us to a cafe named '3.Inch.Sin' located at Millenia Walk.

I ordered the "2 Cheese Mushroom" sandwich

Our foods!
The sandwich looks good but the taste is....I won't recommend you guys to try the "2 Cheese Mushroom" sandwich because it taste horrible. The mushroom taste like its really raw and only boiled/cooked for less than 1 minute. The hot chocolate that i ordered was too thick, it would be nice if it is a little bit thinner. The design of the cafe is nice and bright but it is too small and a bit cramped up. Never mind, this is my first time doing cafe hunting so its quite forgiving that i couldn't find a good cafe. If you have any recommendations, do let me know!

We made our way down to Raffles Place and had Starbucks Coffee (the best cafe ever, so far.) And of course, i will order my favourite drink, Green Tea Cream and i also tried something new today at Starbucks, it is the Toasted Bagel.

After having so much desserts and drinks, we decided to start with our photo shoot at the Cavenagh Bridge. I think the pictures will do the talking because if i were to say more, this post will be a draggy one. So, lets go!

Those pictures on top made it  look like i'm in Paris/London/Italy but i'm actually not, haha! Okay, okay, enjoy more pictures!

I feel like i'm the movie, Hobbit!

I don't get to travel to Paris/London yet so this will do.

And my Friday is made all thanks to these two girls! Can't wait to see you girls again on Sunday because we're gonna go to Adventure Cove for a day under the sun!

Ended of our outing at Esplanade's Rooftop and here's some pictures that I took to end of my post! Have a great weekend!

 xoxo,
Athirah
