Back to school / final lap

I am....not...looking forward for school tomorrow. My 2 weeks of school holidays is gonna end in a few hours time and thats it! Back to school!

I've enjoyed my two weeks of holidays rotting at home, going out with friends, getting to know a lot of good news for me and i definitely enjoyed going to the Closing Concert six days ago. I'm starting to miss everything already, especially Justin Bieber.

I am and will always look forward for the next holidays! I'm left with 2 months plus till i can officially say i'm done with my first year in college. Which means, i have one more year left to accomplish before i get my ass out of that school.

One thing i'm not looking forward for is...travelling from East to West every single day. (I blame myself for applying a school in the west side of Singapore, ugh.) Since its my last term/semester, i must refrain from taking medical leave from school as i took a whole bunch of them last term. It's definitely a no-no for me this term.

Guys....can i just have a time machine and just take me back to those time when i'm having fun? I hate school. Nobody loves school...well at least for me :)

Let's hope more activities in future and time to hit the books!

Peace out!

Trip to Universal Studios Singapore

I'm currently in the train while blogging about this. I'm busy with my Spooktacular training this week at Sentosa. (Yes, i'm part of it)

After every training, myself and Emy(my friend) decided to visit Universal Studios Singapore since we have the 6 months pass card. Since today we had our evening training, we decided to just walk around USS and just take "outfit of the day" pictures....

My visit to Universal Studios won't be perfect if i don't get a ride on the 'BattleStar Galactica' roller coasters. But....the roller coaster is currently unavailable till further notice and i heard that it will only re-open next year. Which means...MY CARD WILL BE EXPIRED BY THE TIME IT STARTS TO WORK AGAIN *cries*

Here are some pictures that we took during our trip to USS.

I'm enjoying my last few days of holidays right now before school starts. My last term and semester before i finish my first year in college...

Let's enjoy the weekends!
Lots of love,

Pencils Of Promise

About a week ago, the founder of Pencils Of Promise, Adam Braun, tweeted saying that he need volunteers or kids who are based in Singapore to help him out on the 25th of September at a conference.

I saw his tweet and told him that I'm interested in volunteering for him.

What is Pencils Of Promise?
Pencils of Promise, also known as PoP for short, is a non-profit organization that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world. Pencils of Promise was founded by Adam Braun in October 2008. It is a organization with school-building operations in LaosNicaraguaGuatemala and Ghana. By June 2013, the charity has built more than 150 schools in a number of countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

I was told to come to Marina Bay Sands Expo to meet the person who will be expecting me and the rest of us who are volunteering to help Adam.

It was my first time entering and volunteering for such a big conference by finance company and other company. Each of us received a free 'Pencils Of Promise' t-shirt to wear so that we will be recognized as volunteers of Pencils of Promise.

Sidetrack for a moment, haha.
(Justin Bieber supports this charity and organization to help build school for kids worldwide so it means, i'm a step closer to Justin Bieber, haha. Since i receive the t-shirt to wear for the event, I can officially say that i have the same t-shirt as Justin Bieber.)

The job that was given to us was a very simple job. All we have to do is go around from table to table to collect business cards from every individuals who wants to collaborate with this organizations.

While Adam was giving his speech on stage, I took this chance to know more about this organization too. It amazed me so much on how it all started with a little amount of money to help other children in getting education and now, the organization has build more that 150 schools, worldwide. I felt so touched with what they did to help childrens from Africa, India, Cambodia and more. These kids don't get to go to school. Even if they do, the school or education given is not suitable for them. And Adam also mentioned that he once asked some kids if they're given a chance to have one thing in life, what will it be?

Some kids said they want magic, they want books but the answer that builds this organization was an answer from a kid saying "I want a pencil." so that's how this organization starts.

I felt really honoured that i got to help out for this organization even though it only lasted for 2 hours. After Adam gave his speech, we went back to the waiting area and got to chat with him for a while. I managed to get a selfie and some photos with him and the rest of us.

Adam is Scooter Braun's brother and Scooter is Justin Bieber's Manager. So see how close i got there? haha.

But that's not the point...

It would be great if you guys, my lovely readers, make some donations to this organization to help build school and give education to kids. You can check and know them more at www.pencilsofpromise.org

Let's help make a difference and always remember to give back (;

Lots of Love,
xx

F1 Closing Concert 2013 / BELIEVE TOUR

*crying while blogging about this*

Yesterday passed by too fast. Everything happens so fast and it feels like everything happens in a blink of an eye.

September 23rd, 2013.
I woke up at 10 in the morning, quickly finish up my house chores and got myself prepared and ready to be under the hot sun for the whole day.

I arrived at The Padang, where the F1 Closing Concert is held around 12pm. The sun was shining brightly but it didn't stop me from queing up to get into the 'FANZONE' area for this concert/believe tour. I waited four hours for the gates to be opened. Didn't get any breakfast or lunch, just water and some diet coke to survive under the hot sun. Got pushed into the crowd and other fans who were rushing in just to get to the fanzone.

Got to the fanzone area, pick up a good spot to watch Owl City & Justin perform. Waited for another two hours till the first show comes out! Yes, Owl City opened up for Justin Bieber's Believe Tour. Owl City rocked the stage with their famous hit 'Fireflies' & 'Good Time' to kill time till Bieber comes out. They ended their show around 07:30pm.

All of us waited for another 1 hour before Justin makes his way up on stage to perform.

8.15pm- Justin Bieber came up on stage with his hit single, All Around The World to kick start his 'BELIEVETOUR' in Singapore! He performed 18 songs in total including songs from previous album, 'MY WORLD'

Justin, my baby, performed his famous singles, 'Boyfriend, As Long As You Love Me' and the traditional 'One Less Lonely Girl' song.

OLLG: It stands for One Less Lonely Girl. Justin's crew will randomly pick one girl from the audience, get her on stage and Justin will serenade and sing for her during the last few minutes of the song,One Less Lonely Girl. If she's lucky, Justin will kiss her too!
(I was hoping that i'll be the OLLG, but i guess luck wasn't on me, last night.)

I broke down when Justin serenades the lucky girl last night. I cried because i felt so touched for what he did throughout this journey since 2009. He gives back to fans who has been supporting him since the beginning.

Justin sang every song perfectly and i totally melt in my heart and seeing him live again after 2 years since the last show, it's UNBELIEVABLE! It felt like a dream but it wasn't a dream. It's really happening...

But every good thing has to come to an end. I wish the concert would last forever.
Justin ended off his 1 hour and 45 minutes show with his ULTIMATE hit, 'Baby' and that's the end of the concert and Believe Tour.

After the show, most of the beliebers got to know that Justin will leave Singapore right after the concert and he'll make his way down to Bangkok, Thailand. He spent only two days in Singapore and i didn't even get to see him face-to-face. So near yet so far, Justin. I miss you, i really do.

I had a hard time sleeping last night, i woke up during my sleep just to check on my phone to see what Justin tweets. It hurts so much to see yourself being at his concert 4 hours ago and knowing that he left Singapore for Bangkok in the wee hours is just so saddening.

Eventhough i didn't get to be the OLLG, i thank god for giving me this chance to see him live again in Singapore. I can finally say that i survived the crazy crowd, the hot weather and i totally enjoyed the concert despite the bad attitude given by the securities at the arena.

April 19, 2011 - Justin Bieber's MY WORLD TOUR in Singapore.
September 23, 2013 - F1 Closing Concert / Believe Tour by Justin Bieber is ticked off from my Bucket List.
(Looking forward for more shows by him, in the future :D)

I have loved watching Justin from the cute 15 years old grow to a Charming 19 year old Bieber now and i'm always looking forward to see him grow even better and stronger. I'll always be by your side since the beginning. Thanks so much for making history in my life last night, dearest Justin Drew Bieber. I love you.

Have a great Believe Tour.

See you soon,
#1 Fan
Athirah xoxo

Alley Photos @ Haji Lane

I would like to dedicate this blog post to my two awesome friends, Nabilah Atikqah and Muhd Farouk as they turn 17 & 18 in the month of September.

Our plan was to blindfold them all the way to G-MAX bungy today but unfortunately, the bungy is closed for maintenence for a month starting from yesterday. (Blame me for not checking earlier)

We made our way down to Clark Quay to have our lunch but we just couldn't find anything to eat so we head down to Dhoby Ghaut to have our lunch before heading down to Haji Lane @ Arab Street for our first shisha session!

Cheers to our first session together! We sat down at Al-Fazzah and ordered some drinks as most of us were still full after the heavy lunch!

Well, your trip to Haji Lane won't be perfect without Alley Photos right? Here's mine! Taken by the birthday girl, Nab!

Yay to alley photos at Haji Lane!

On top of that, 4 days left to F1 Closing Concert and i heard that bieber's on his way to Singapore already! I'm so stoked already! Will tell you guys more!

Lots of love,

Polyvore's: Fall Outwear

I created this 'Fall Outwear' using Polyvore today. These 4 is my favorite Fall Outwear that i've designed so far and here i am sharing it with you guys!

First Set of Fall Outwear:
Celebrate and welcome Fall by wearing a basic knitted sweatshirt or sweater to cover up yourself during the Fall season. Pair it up with a nice pair of ripped jeans to achieve that "rocky fall" look. Try to wear boots or high heels with strap as this will instantly make you taller by a few inches. Put on a burgundy coloured beanie, a pair of vintage sunglass, scarf to keep your neck warm, very light natural make up, silvered bangles and a creamy coloured handbag to finish up this basic Fall Outwear.

Want to walk the streets looking elegant but still relaxed during fall?

Second Set of Fall Outwear:
Get your basic black & white striped long sleeves t-shirt from your favourite clothing store, put on a black leather biker jacket or just a regular black leather jacket on, pair it up with a 'Olive Green' coloured jeans, a pair of black heels with straps, apply a sweet yet elegant make up on your face, accesorize yourself with a 'Tony Burch' bangle or any regular black bangle that you have, white and gold coloured rings to enhance your fingers, put on a scarf for that sweet look and finish of by bringing a brown sling/hand bag.

Third Set of Fall Outwear: Try to find a dark maroon  or dark coloured dress as fall is all about wearing and rocking dark colours! Get your parka's on, put on a pair of brown high cut boots, white socks in, very vampire-ish lip colour, eyeshadow by NARS, put on gold coloured bangles and rings, bring along a sling bag and finish off with a pair of brown shades!

Last Set of Fall Outwear: Get a white or cream coloured blouse and wear it with a denim jacket in normal wash, pair it up with a burgundy coloured jeans, pair of black boots, put on a rosy pink blusher on, red lips, a small bag, a studdy bangle, black shades and curl your hair up for this 'Rock Chic' Fall Outwear.

That's all for my Fall Outwear for now, if i have more, i'll do a post about it but for now, i wish these clothes would just magically appear in my wardrobe tonight or maybe...anyone wants to sponsor me?

If there is, you can just email me at stiffles-philosopy@hotmail.com!

Hope this post helps!

Review: KSL Hotel & Resort, Johor Bahru

Hey readers! I'm actually blogging at the hotel room right now at KSL in Johor Bahru. I'm having my short 2 days getaway from Singapore with my family and my cousins. I supposed this plan is made earlier by my mum about us going for a short getaway to JB.

We booked the 'Junior Suite' room. As usual, before going on a holiday, i'll do a research on the hotel facilities first, then i'll move and search pictures of the room that we have booked. I went on Google and found some amazing pictures of the room. Well of course, i'm not deceived by pictures from Google that much. As for me, as long as i don't experience the room myself, the more i won't believe what pictures would actually say. Ok, i don't know if this makes sense but you guys get me right?

We left Singapore early in the morning and made our way to Kota Tinggi because the "oldies" in my family wants to shop for "their stuffs" which includes the traditional malay costumes, scarfs and more. After 2 hours of shopping at Kota Tinggi, we made our way back to the town of Johor Bahru and we checked  in into the hotel!

This time round, we're at KSL Hotel & Resort! Yes guys! Once i entered the room, i believed what Google has showed. Just look at this  photos of the 'Junior Suite' of KSL (this photos is taken by yours truly, not from Google, hehe.)

Not just that guys....look at this amazing view from my room!

Day:

Night:
(This view is taken from the 25th floor, which is my hotel room.)

Isn't it amazing? I didn't expect the hotel to be so cool like this! 5 stars hotel with a connected KSL shopping mall at ground level, swimming pool, Dinosaur Themed Water Park, Gym, 24 hours Room Service. Mmmmm, i feel so rich for a day, night and moment, haha!

But too bad, this is just a 2 days getaway! I wish i can stay longer maybe for a week or so, haha. I really recommend to those of you who wants to go for a short getaway, not too near, not too far away from Singapore, to come here and stay at KSL Hotel & Resort! It's really worth the bucks! $$$

(Ratings: 9/10)

Really hope this post helps!
Goodnight kisses from KSL, Johor Bahru.
Xoxo.

(I'll do a haul post on the stuffs that i bought from this trip!)
